Charles falters slightly in step, especially so when the peck to the cheek comes, but he recovers quickly, head turning to look at Raven with somewhat of a baffled expression. He hates it when the two of them argue, but as much as he would love to believe this is the end of the discussion, he knows that they won't last much longer if something isn't resolved somewhere.

"Oh, Raven, I do love you, but sometimes you can be quite dense. You are the thing that makes me the happiest. You must be aware of that? You are my friend, my family, and the very reason that I have made it here today. I know that just of late I've been working a little too hard with my studies, but it won't be forever, and once it's over with then you and I can spend some quality time together." He pauses, offering her a smile, and sliding an arm around her back, pulling her close as they continue on. "If my sacrificing one thing will make you happier, then I am more than willing to do it. You wouldn't be asking. I would be offering."
