[ A letter is delivered shortly after this network post goes live. This could have been a text or a telepathic check-in, but Charles obviously thought this merited a bit of pomp and ceremony: the letter is exquiste stationary, thick paper, blue wax seal, and Charles' own elegant cursive. ]
Dear Raven,
As we find ourselves stranded in this bizarre world, Erik and I have come to an agreement. You may not know this, but in his future, he was responsible for building an island nation for mutants called Genosha -- it was a place of peace, separate from humans, given to mutants by the government. We both found ourselves with little to do here, and so, wanting to continue some semblance of what we had built in our own world, we decided to build something like that here: a farm, but also a training grounds, a safe haven, and a place of teaching for those who need it.
It goes without saying that I would welcome your experience and your presence, in whatever capacity you would like to contribute -- whether farming, teaching, or training.
I know it must be strange to see Erik and I united, but we have talked extensively, and I believe we are on the same page. He is a very different man than the one of our time, and I find myself reaching toward him philosophically more and more.
Please, feel free to respond to this via Leaf, letter, or telepathically.
Of course it's not strange to see you two work together. Stay together? That's entirely different. It's strange having us all in the same place for so long.
I know nothing about gardens, but if you give me people to train, I can do that.
It is strange having us all together, but I quite like it. There's nothing like bizarre magical scenarios to force people to come together and think about what was keeping them apart.
I obviously know absolutely nothing about gardening either, but there are a number of people who have expressed interest in being trained, as well as others who'd like to practice combat. So I imagine you'll have your hands full!
Not a terrible amount, but one of the first things that happened upon my arrival here was a-- prompting of memories. Some magic caused me to relive the moment when I found out about the experimentation on mutants to fuel to Sentinel program, and it caused me to lose control of my telepathy, broadcasting the memory to others nearby.
[ And suddenly the expression on her face goes stark as she relives her own version of that. Knowing it was happening and then seeing the files on her friends. ]
I...saw some of the autopsy photos. Of Angel. Azazel.

Date: 2025-05-05 09:06 pm (UTC)Training is something that I can do. Or at least something I was learning to do before I was pulled here.

[ Nothing he can say can possibly make up for it, though. ]
Do you feel that... what we did was enough? By destroying the Sentinel program, did we do right by them?
