And I'm betting that if you hadn't helped release Erik and he hadn't gone after the President, then he might never have been arrested in the first place. I'm not arguing that, given what happened, not killing him was the better way. I'm saying we'll never know what might have happened if you hadn't come back and I'd decided differently.
If that's Hank instead of you...I'm letting him in.
She left the phone on the bed and walked over to the door. She didn't really think that was Hank, but she knew the two had had a rivalry...basically since the day they'd met. She wasn't planning on using the two against each other, but she couldn't resist needling him a little.
She smiled as she opened the door to ease the sting a little. After all, Hank was one of those complications she was avoiding.
"I didn't even know you were here. Found out about Scott's adventures in person, then?"
"You wouldn't." He was stood staring at that last message as she opened the door. Knowing she would just to wind him up. He put the phone away, his attention was all for her then.
"On my own doorstep." He still wasn't sure if he should be proud or just pissed off with his brother. Mostly it was the latter and that it had turned up on his doorstep. "It wasn't planned that I was here or I'd have let you know."
"On your..." Raven's lips pursed as she tried not to laugh. She decided not to ask the first question that came to mind: Was it one of the girls who'd shown up in some kind of huff looking for Scott or was it Scott himself running from trouble? Either situation was infinitely amusing and not at all the reason Alex was currently at her door.
"So, now I know why you agreed to come over." She opened the door a little wider and took a step back.
Oh it was an irate woman looking for Scott. Which as things went wasn't that out of place in Alex's doorstep. It was the fact she was looking for Scott not Alex. That's what threw things out of place considerably. It was also one of the neighbours Alex recognised. Which made it somehow worse. So much so he was tempted to tell her where Scotty was and just sit back and watch the fireworks. But he hadn't. Alex had denied knowledge of everything (which had been true before he'd heard what happened from her) and gone to the one place he knew he could go safely. Back to the mansion. Where he could also plot his brother's demise.
"I might have to move." He took a step closer to her. "Or get rid of my brother. Whichever is less complicated." He made a face and then looked slightly apologetic. His mess could be left at the door. "Well if say I do have to hide for a while I might as well have good company and not have to talk about it." He frowned a little, hesitant about going any further into her room. "You still want to do this?" He hoped it wasn't already a mess. Well, more than his life could be.
"I promised Charles I wouldn't bury any more bodies, but I suppose I can make an exception." She lifted an eyebrow when he stopped moving in closer. To be honest, she hadn't really expected anything more than teasing and flirting and she definitely hadn't expected him to be at the mansion let alone come here, but she wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Her dry spell was starting to reach desert levels of dry.
Hank was complicated, Erik a minefield, and the less said about Charles, the better.
"You wouldn't have gotten in the room if I didn't," she said instead of pointing any of that out.
She made an excellent point, he knew he wouldn't be even close to where he was right then if she didn't want it. He'd seen what she was capable of. Fought alongside her. Alex actually respected her amongst the other feelings he had for her.
"I'm still surprised you didn't kill me all that time ago." He smirked and stepped past her while shrugging his jacket off. "And we can work out how we can kill my brother later. I don't really want to think about him right now."
"You were harmless," she said with a shrug. She shut the door behind him and made sure it was locked. It wouldn't stop all of the students, but they all respected her privacy and if something that important happened that they didn't knock, she didn't suppose anyone would care who was in bed with her.
"An ass," she continued as she turned back to him, "but harmless. If I thought you were trying to be cruel...but you were just firing shots at someone who didn't know how to shoot back."
Hank had learned in the intervening years. He might still not be up to their level, but he had learned.

...
What about Moira?
[Sure. Moira.]

I was glad to see her. But she could never be part of our lives the way it is shaping up to be.

[ Or he'd try not to. Best intentions, etc. ]
But fine: it is someone you know, which makes this entirely awkward.
